Using a brand new Gecko custom motor, this pump offers outstanding performance in a compact design. Dynamics between pump components are complex. To ensure optimal output, Maelstrom pumps are engineered to run at their sweet spot. The low speed is providing sufficient flow for the heater circulation at a low current draw. 

These pumps are “derated” pumps.

This means it is a 12 amp “Rated Motor” on which Gecko manufactured a 101mm impeller to reduce the flow and the Amp drawn to 8.2 amp/3.1 amp.” 

The sticker on the new motor will still show the 12/3.5 amp rating because that is what the motor is rated for.
